Grip-Like Vice are a dynamic young band who play high energy, original art-pop.

The band list XTC, They Might Be Giants, Everything Everything, The Beatles, Prince, The Wannadies, Elliot Smith and Elvis Costello (whose ‘Party Girl’ song lyrics inspired the group’s name) among their influences, but the chief inspiration is a desire for originality.

​Barbara   Gaskin

Dave Stewart (keyboards) and Barbara Gaskin (vocals) are English musicians who began their respective careers as band members in the early '70s. 

​The duo enjoyed immediate success with their 1981 debut single 'It's My Party', a worldwide hit which reached number one in the UK and Germany. Dave & Barbara have worked together ever since, releasing their music on their own independent Broken Records label and occasionally performing live as a trio or quartet.
